President of the VGCL receives new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua
On the afternoon of August 5, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Vietnam Communist Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor received Mr. Mario José Armengol Campos - the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua in Vietnam.

The meeting was especially meaningful as it took place on the eve of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Nicaragua (September 3, 1979 - September 3, 2024).

Exchanging information at the meeting, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that the status of the Vietnam Trade Union is stipulated in the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as a socio-political organization of the working class and laborers, established on a voluntary basis, representing laborers, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of laborers.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang affirmed that the Vietnam Trade Union welcomed the decision of the Government of Nicaragua to open the Embassy of Nicaragua in Vietnam. The Vietnam Trade Union was very pleased to witness the two countries effectively implementing cooperation mechanisms in many areas such as trade, security, agriculture, as well as coordinating and supporting each other at international organizations and multilateral forums.

On this occasion, President Nguyen Dinh Khang expressed his belief that the Ambassador, during his term, will continue to promote the development of the two countries' cooperative strengths; have many initiatives that positively contribute to the development of traditional friendship, and successfully complete his term of office in Vietnam. In particular, he is interested in promoting the cooperative relationship between the Vietnam Trade Union and the Trade Union of the Republic of Nicaragua.

President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang affirmed his desire to continue promoting and developing the friendship, solidarity and cooperation in many aspects with Nicaragua. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will actively coordinate with the Embassy in implementing and organizing activities to enhance mutual understanding, foster good friendship and effective cooperation between the people of Vietnam and Nicaragua in general and between the workers and trade unions of the two countries in particular.


The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also expressed his hope that the Ambassador would help connect and introduce partner organizations to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and its affiliated units to promote the first step in people-to-people exchange and trade union cooperation between the two sides. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is ready to support in connecting with units, localities and enterprises in the Vietnam Trade Union system to promote cultural and economic exchanges and trade union cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Mario José Armengol Campos wished to affirm the diplomatic relations between the two countries and between the two trade union organizations. The 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Nicaragua demonstrates the friendship, cooperation and commonalities between Nicaragua and Vietnam. Mentioning his duties, Mr. Mario José Armengol Campos said that in addition to diplomatic relations, he also has the duty to strengthen solidarity between the two Parties and the two Trade Union organizations.
