For two consecutive years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien (Thach That, Hanoi) went to the Tet Trade Union Market. With vouchers and free vouchers supported by the union, she can shop for many items at preferential prices.
Vouchers help reduce Tet spending
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien is a cooking staff at Cam Yen Kindergarten, Thach That district. Coming to the Tet Trade Union Market organized by the Federation of Labor of Thach That district, Ms. Lien bought a lot of things from the stalls, using vouchers supported by the Union. The things she bought are mainly food for daily meals.
Explaining why she did not buy Tet goods but instead chose to buy everyday food, Ms. Lien said that she wanted to save money on spending for Tet, so she took advantage of the goods in Tet Trade Union Marketthat had preferential prices and guaranteed quality, so she decided to buy right away.
With 2 years of "experience" going to the Tet Trade Union Market, Ms. Lien hopes that every year the Trade Union will organize a Tet market to help union members and workers in difficult circumstances reduce spending. Not only the Tet Trade Union Market, workers also hope to have a quarterly market or the Union organizes a form of daily or weekly market...
Also the second time going to the Tet Trade Union Market, Ms. Phung Thi Van, a worker of Quang Minh Industrial Park (Me Linh) bought a lot of items for both weekdays and Tet. In addition to the vouchers supported by the Union, Ms. Van used cash to buy everything she needed for Tet. Because she once went to the Tet Trade Union Market during the Year of the Cat in 2023, Ms. Van has experience shopping here for quality and quite abundant goods.
Lunar New Year 2023, with a voucher worth 500,000 VND given by the Union, Ms. Van bought candy to give to her parents on both sides to set up an ancestral altar; she can also buy vermicelli, mushrooms, fish sauce, and cooking oil to cook Tet meals. This year, in addition to the above items, she bought more bird's nests to take care of her parents' health...
Ms. Van shares the same desire as Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, which is to have more markets organized by the Union for workers to conveniently shop.
Tet Trade Union Market is organized in many diverse forms
Not only organizing the "Tet Trade Union Market" in one day, this year, the Lunar New Year of Dragon, many unions at all levels have extended the time of the "Tet Trade Union Market" to create favorable conditions for union members and workers to schedule time to go shopping.
For example, the Federation of Labor of Ba Dinh district (Hanoi city) organized the Tet Trade Union Market from January 28th to February 4th with 21 booths of 16 businesses to serve the Tet shopping needs of union members and workers. Here, union members and workers can shop for essential, high-quality products, OCOP-rated products - which is the Top 2 products in the poll of Vietnamese products loved by consumers.
In particular, in addition to the 0 VND gift booth, there is also a booth giving ‘ao dai’ to workers for all union members and employees of 503 grass root level members participating in shopping at the "Tet Trade Union Market".
In Dong Da district, the District People's Committee coordinated with the district's Federation of Labor and the District's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to organize "Tet of Kindness - Trade Union Booth" to welcome 2024 Lunar New Year. The program took place from January 26th - 31st , opening hours from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
